Our Birchwoods mural captures the distinctive paperlike bark and black “lenticles,” in an immersive, dense grove, enveloping the viewer as if you are in the forest yourself. Available in a variety of captivating color schemes, this mural allows you to tailor the aesthetic to complement your interior decor perfectly. Choose from soothing monochromes for a minimalist vibe, earthy neutrals that evoke warmth and rustic charm, or vibrant hues that inject playful energy into any room. Designed to capture the tranquil beauty and graceful elegance of these iconic trees, this mural brings the outdoors in, creating an atmosphere of calm and natural splendor.
Birch trees are memorable for their white paper-like bark with black lines and patches. They shed their leaves in winter but have beautiful green leaves that rustle in the breeze in the spring and summer before turning yellow in the fall. There are at least 17 species of Birch native to North America, in the northern states, with some species extending south into Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. A similar, unrelated tree, the Quaking Aspen, is also common to northern and higher elevation portions of North America, descending southward through the Rocky Mountains to the Colorado Plateau.
We think our artist’s rendering can pass for either birch or Aspen.
This wallpaper mural can be printed up to 17 feet wide by 12 feet tall, and for large installations is horizontally repeatable.
Choose a Colorway
The original version of our Birchwoods features a dominant use of blue shades. Another colorful one conjures images of the fall, with orange, butternut squash and purples shades. Other variants include sage green, grey, sepia, black and white, or muted blues. Something for a variety of preferences.

You Can Customize the Size and Scale of A Mural
Each of our murals has a maximum print width and height. Chances are those are not the dimensions of your own wall.
Just below and to the right of the main product images on a mural product page, you will see an orange box, labeled "CUSTOMIZE FOR MY ROOM."
The Cropping Tool
When you click on that box, we pop open an editing, or "cropping" tool. Enter the overall height and width of your wall. You can use feet plus inches, or just inches, by choosing with the box labeled Select Unit. We don't allow you to enter more than the maximum print size. If the max is 20 and you enter 23, the box will show 20.
Once your dimensions are entered, grid lines are plotted over a full image of the mural, showing what part you get with your dimensions. That grid line box can be dragged around to choose a portion of the mural you prefer.
Most of the time, you'll want the entire mural. For that choice, drag the grid to the top left corner. Then, using your mouse, select the blue square in the lower right hand corner of the mural and drag it into your grid frame. If the aspect ratio of your wall is the same as our mural, you'll get a perfect match. usually, there will be a sacrificial strip, either vertically or horizontally that must be edited out. You can still drag your frame around to capture the best part, making sure, for example, to capture the focal point of the picture in the center of the frame.
Trim Strips - How Big and Why
Whatever your dimensions are, we will add 2" extra on all 4 sides to make sure that when you install, we fill the wall, even if one of your walls isn't perfectly level or plumb. This can add 5 to 10 square feet to a typical order, roughly $30 to $60, as insurance against coming up short when it matters most in a custom mural print. We show this calculation on the customizer page, so you can see the impact on your order quantity and price before you save your work and add the mural to your Cart to check out.

Our supplier works in accordance with a controlled and certified ISO 14001 environmental management system. Our vinyl wallcovering is made using environmentally friendly production processes. In addition, our supplier is a member of VinylPlus, an initiative started by the international vinyl-processing industry with the objective of promoting the sustainable production and use of vinyl. Bearing the CE label for vinyl wallcovering, the material also complies with the strictest requirements for fire safety.
Our latest material innovation is TPO, the acronym for thermoplastic olefin. TPO wall covering is a blend of different materials comprised of a thermoplastic (such as polypropylene), an elastomer (rubber) and a filler. It is the most significant advancement in wall covering technology in more than 50 years. Environmentally safe, TPO is a PVC-free wall covering free of plasticisers, chlorine, formaldehyde, heavy metals, and halogenated fire retardants. Furthermore, it is printed using only water-based inks and coatings. TPO has unique strength and performance properties and its production requires one third less energy than PVC film. By not using PVC, the potential dangers in manufacturing chlorine-based products are eliminated.
